A fund has been established at Columbia Credit Union to support the children of the late Brian Willoughby.

Willoughby, a well-known community activist and former Columbian reporter, died in an accidental electrical fire at his house in West Vancouver on March 28. He was 56.

Willoughby’s young-adult children, Clara and Jay, now face numerous unanticipated financial responsibilities, including the mortgage on the house, loss of health insurance and lack of monthly support.

Donations in cash or check may be made out to “Account for Brian Willoughby” and delivered to any Columbia Credit Union branch, or mailed to Account for Brian Willoughby, Columbia Credit Union, P.O. Box 324, Vancouver, WA, 98666.

A memorial service for Willoughby has been scheduled for 3:30 p.m. May 21 at Clark College, 1933 Fort Vancouver Way.
