Nominees for Week 4 spring sports prep athletes of the week

Voting, sponsored by Athletes Corner, continues through Thursday

Here are the nominees for The Columbian spring sports prep athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the two-week period ending April 8.

Voting will continue until 8 p.m. Thursday, with results announced in Friday’s edition of The Columbian.

To avoid vote manipulation, voting is restricted by IP address. That means people voting while connected to a public WIFI access may be unable vote. We suggest voting be done by private internet access or through your cellular provider.

SPENCER ANDERSEN, RIDGEFIELD BASEBALL: Andersen threw a six-inning no-hitter and went 2 for 3 with two RBI in a 10-0 win over Mark Morris.

EMMA COX, CAMAS GIRLS GOLF: Cox won the Chieftain Invitational by two shots, shooting a 78 at Tri-Mountain Golf Course.

JAI’LYN MERRIWEATHER, UNION GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD: Merriweather set a meet record in the 400 and helps Union set another in the 1,600 relay at the Oregon Relays.

ABBY RUNYON, HOCKINSON SOFTBALL: Runyon struck out 21 batters in 12 innings, picking up two wins, and went 2 for 6 with 3 RBI for the Hawks.

CURTIS STRADLEY, BATTLE GROUND BOYS TRACK AND FIELD: Stradley won the javelin at 211-1 at the WolfPack Invitational in Tumwater and now holds the state-best mark by more than 15 feet.
