The Portland Winterhawks’ season came to an end Friday with a 6-2 loss at Kelowna in the Western Hockey League Western Conference semifinals.

The Rockets won the series 4-1 and advanced to face Seattle in the conference finals beginning on Friday.

Kelowna never trailed in Game 5, but Portland did get close in the second period. Down 3-0, a goal by Joachim Blichfeld and a shorthanded goal by Matt Revel made it 3-2.
