Interstate 5 southbound will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday between Broadway and the Marquam Bridge, according to the Oregon Department of Transportation. Access from I-5 southbound to I-84 eastbound will remain open. The left lane of I-5 northbound will also remain closed through the weekend.

Travelers on I-5 south will take Interstate 405 southbound as a detour. Congested is expected near I-5 and the detour routes, and even on surface streets. Motorists heading through Portland should consider using Interstate 205.

In addition, rolling slowdowns and lane closures are planned on Highway 26 west of downtown due to unrelated work.
