WASHOUGAL — The Washougal School District was granted a waiver for five snow days by the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction. The district canceled 11 days of school due to winter weather.
The cancellations used up three planned and three additional snow makeup days. District officials made several changes to the school calendar to make up six of the 11 missed days, and the waiver takes care of the remaining five.
Time was added onto school days to help make up for lost instructional time. June 23, the last day of school, has been changed from a three-hour early release to a full school day.
