YWCA Clark County’s Court Appointed Special Advocate, or CASA, program will host an open house 4 to 6 p.m. April 19 in the community room at 3609 Main St.
People can meet staff and community partners and learn more about the program, as well as its volunteer opportunities.
“CASA volunteers provide factual information about the situation of children who are involved in the Dependency Court system because they are victims of abuse, neglect, or abandonment. They ensure that children don’t get lost in the overburdened legal and social service system or stay in inappropriate group or foster homes. For many abused children, their CASA volunteer will be the one constant adult presence in their lives,” YWCA said in a news release.
The program averages 20 referrals per month.
