Hospice Southwest is looking for volunteers for a new program called No One Dies Alone.

The program is for patients who are comfort care and expected to die within 24 to 48 hours. Program volunteers provide companionship during the dying process to patients who are alone. The new program will begin June 1.

Vigil shifts for volunteers are four hours long, and volunteers are contacted on an as-needed basis. Hospice Southwest is holding a volunteer training for those who are interested. The training is 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 4 at Hope Bereavement Center, 5400 MacArthur Blvd., Vancouver.

To register, contact Jodi Wicks at 360-696-5071 or jwicks@peacehealth.org.
