Battle Ground — Second Chance Companions received a $14,200 donation from Dick Hannah Subaru on March 30.

The money will help fund a variety of Second Chance services.

Last year, the shelter packed and delivered more than 72,000 pounds of food through its Animeals program, which partners with Meals on Wheels to provide free animal food to seniors, the disabled and needy individuals. Second Chance also spayed and neutered 540 cats and dogs, and re-homed and adopted out 424 pets.

The shelter’s 15th annual Great Balls of Fur dinner auction, themed “Furry Tails and Dreams Come True,” is scheduled for May 13.
