Two empty net goals in the final 1:20 of the game helped seal Game 2 for the Kelowna Rockets, 5-2, on Saturday over the Portland Winterhawks and a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven WHL conference semifinals. Kelowna never trailed in the game.

Portland’s Joachim Blichfeld scored a goal late in the second period to make it 2-1, and Ryan Hughes scored with 40 seconds to play.

Kelowna was coming off a 4-2 win in Game 1 on Friday.

Games 3 and 4 are scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday at Portland’s Memorial Coliseum.
