A Washougal man is being held at the Clark County Jail in lieu of $150,000 bail after he was accused of brandishing a gun at people in two different parking lots earlier this week.
Johnathon Blake Fulmer, 24, made his first appearance Friday in Clark County Superior Court on allegations of first-degree robbery and first- and second-degree assault.
The first incident occurred Tuesday at 2:14 a.m. at Chevron, 165 C St. in Washougal. Steven Riddle was getting gas when he was approached by a man, later identified as Fulmer, who made antagonistic remarks toward Riddle, according to a probable cause affidavit filed in the case.
After he was done filling up his truck, Riddle saw the man expose a pistol tucked in his waistline before returning to his car and driving away erratically, the affidavit states.
About 2 1/2 hours later, Vancouver police were called to 7-Eleven, 5600 N.E. Fourth Plain Blvd.
According to court documents, a man, later identified as Fulmer, pulled up in a vehicle and pointed a handgun at Jacob Lepley. The robber demanded that Lepley give him his cellphone, according to court documents.
Montreal Massui, a store clerk, was in the parking lot, and the man pointed a gun at him, too, according to the affidavit. Massui stared running, and the man followed him in the vehicle until Massui ran back inside the store, court records state.
Investigators found similarity in suspect descriptions and vehicle license plates, the affidavit said. When interviewed, Fulmer admitted to being at both locations but denied having any confrontations. He also denied having a gun, the affidavit said.
Fulmer is scheduled to be arraigned on the charges Friday.
