Five Clark County residents were among a group of men arrested during an online sex-trafficking sting conducted by the Portland Police Bureau over the last two weeks.
Investigators posted online advertisements on known sex-trafficking websites, where 14 men contacted undercover officers to arrange payment for sex. Police said they arrested 13 of the men after they came to the Portland area hotels to meet the intended victims.
All of the men were arrested on suspicion of commercial sexual solicitation, a misdemeanor in Oregon, according to Portland police.
Among those arrested were Sergio Franco-Ruiz, 48, of Vancouver; Tyler Jon Moon, 22, of Vancouver; Wesley Edward Baumgardner, 32, of Battle Ground; Diego Elias Yac Sanchez, 33, of Vancouver; and Richard Lynn Schneider, 58, of Vancouver. Schneider was also charged with delivery of hydrocodone, police said.
The other men arrested were listed as Oregon residents.
