Winterhawks win at Prince George for 3-2 series lead

The Portland Winterhawks are bringing home a chance to win their first- round Western Hockey League playoff series.

Joachim Blichfeld scored two goals, and Ryan Hughes and Cody Glass each scored in the third period as the Winterhawks won Game 5 at Prince George 5-3 on Saturday.

Portland brings home a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven series with Game 6 set for Monday at the Memorial Coliseum.

Hughes notched the game-winner when he capitalized on a 2-on-1, and Glass earned his sixth point of the postseason when he fired the puck home late in the third to seal the victory.

Portland goaltender Cole Kehler made 48 saves on 51 shots.
