Schools honored for English, math gains

Clark County – Six schools in the Educational Service District 112 region have been named School of Distinction for improvement in English language arts and math over a five-year period.

The 2016 Schools of Distinction go to the 5 percent highest improving schools in the state. Across the state, 94 schools received the award.

In Clark County, awards are going to Burnt Bridge Creek Elementary and Benjamin Franklin Elementary, both in Vancouver, and Canyon Creek Middle School in Washougal. Canyon Creek also received the award in 2007.

Castle Rock Elementary in Castle Rock, Rose Valley Elementary in Kelso and R.A. Long High School in Longview will also receive awards this year.
