Back-to-school event gives families haircuts, supplies

East Vancouver — For the second straight year, Wy’east Middle School hosted its Back-to-School Barbeque on Aug. 25. The event allowed families to stop by for food, free haircuts, free school supplies, face painting, bounce house and a dunk tank. Evergreen Public Schools worked with multiple local organizations to put on the event. Cascade Park Baptist Church ran the barbecue, Manning Academy and Rebelle Salon provided free haircuts and PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center donated the backpacks and school supplies.
