Battle Ground police arrested a 15-year-old boy on suspicion of stealing from vehicles and homes, and possession of marijuana.
The boy was caught stealing by the owner of a vehicle, who detained him, at about 3 a.m. Tuesday in the 900 block of Northwest 12th Avenue, according to a news release from the city of Battle Ground.
At the scene, police recovered property from the boy that they suspected was stolen from several other vehicles and homes in the neighborhood, the news release said.
Police arrested him on suspicion of residential burglary, second-degree theft, vehicle prowl and possession of marijuana, and those charges were forwarded to prosecutors in Clark County’s juvenile court system, according to the news release.
Many of the stolen items were returned to their owners, the news release said. The rest was taken to the Battle Ground Police Department. Items can be claimed by calling evidence technician Emily Cain at 360-342-5234.
