After a brief standoff, Clark County sheriff’s deputies arrested a man who reportedly pointed a gun at a woman.

Deputies were called to 1007 N.E. 54th Court at about 9:15 p.m. Sunday for a report of a disturbance involving a handgun, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies learned that a man and a woman had gotten into an argument and that the man, later identified as Cade Osborn, 39, had pointed a handgun at the woman, causing her to flee the residence, the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies made contact with Osborn, but he refused to exit the home.

The Southwest Washington Regional SWAT Team and the Regional Crisis Negotiation Team responded. After several minutes of negotiating, Osborn surrendered without further incident, the sheriff’s office said.

Osborn was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault and booked into the Clark County Jail.
