Arnada — Vancouver Pizza closed at the beginning of the month while it renovates to add more space for diners and to host community events. The staff didn’t want the extra dough and ingredients to go to waste, so after it closed, they cooked eight pies, salad to feed about 30 people and assorted desserts for Share. The delivery was a little bumpy, though, as they accidentally went to Open House Ministries. They left one pie there and delivered more food later in the week to apologize for the false excitement, according to Michael McClafferty, manager at the pizzeria. Vancouver Pizza is expected to reopen in October.
