Week 2 fall sports prep athlete of the week nominees

Voting, sponsored by Athletes Corner, continues through Thursday

Here are the nominees for The Columbian fall sports prep athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Sept. 17.

Athletes may win the honor once in during the regular season and cannot be nominated in consecutive weeks.

Voting will continue until 8 p.m. Thursday, with results announced in Friday’s edition of The Columbian.

BELLA GAMA RIDGEFIELD VOLLEYBALL: Gama had 65 assists, 16 digs and four aces in two league wins.

HAILEY GROTTE, LA CENTER SWIMMING: Grotte won the 100 back and had a state-qualifying time in the 100 free.

EMMA JENKINS, CAMAS GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY: Jenkins won the Moderate Course race at the Three Course Challenge in Seaside.

KEITH LOBIS, UNION BOYS GOLF: Lobis shot a 1-under 71 to lead Union to a win in the Jeff Hudson Invitational.

KYLE PETERSON, HOCKINSON BOYS CROSS COUNTRY: Peterson won the Hard Course race at the Three Course Challenge in Seaside.
