Vancouver — The Port of Vancouver and the nonprofit organization Project for Public Spaces will meet with community leaders and local vendors to get their input on a potential marketplace at Terminal 1, the site of the old Red Lion Hotel Vancouver at the Quay.

The two organizations are studying how a downtown Vancouver waterfront market would look and fit with the city’s culture, how it would harmonize with other programs, and if created, what it would need to succeed.

Local retailers, craftsmen, farmers, and owners of restaurants and bars are invited to give perspective to the study and attend a focus-group meeting.

The meeting is planned for 4 to 6 p.m., Tuesday at the former Red Lion Hotel Vancouver at the Quay lobby, 100 Columbia St., Vancouver.

Participants are asked to register by sending an email to rsvp@portvanusa.com or by calling 360-693-3611.

The study is expected to be completed in October, so the port can incorporate the findings as part of the Terminal 1 Concept Development Plan, which is expected to be submitted to the city of Vancouver in November.
