Ridgefield — As enrollment in the Ridgefield School District grows, so does the staff.
This year, Ridgefield welcomed nearly 30 new teachers and administrators to the district during its four-day New Employee Induction program in mid-August. In its second year, the program shows new employees the district’s instructional framework, teacher supports and learning culture.
This year, the district hired two staff development specialists to enhance the induction program by providing instructional coaching and mentoring support for the two new staffers, Nathan Lee and Elisa Smith.
“New teachers want to know how to start on day one,” Lee said in a release from the district. “Providing our new staff with the time to get prepared, learn about the district and offering reassurance that they have our support is critical to getting the year started on the right foot. We wanted to make sure our program focused on doing those things and doing them well.”
