Nominees for Week 1 fall sports prep athlete of the week

Voting, sponsored by Athletes Corner, continues through Thursday

Here are the nominees for The Columbian fall sports prep athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Sept. 10.

Athletes may win the honor once in during the regular season and cannot be nominated in consecutive weeks.

Voting will continue until 8 p.m. Thursday, with results announced in Friday’s edition of The Columbian.

SAVANNA CRAIG, MOUNTAIN VIEW GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY: Craig was the runner-up at the Ash Creek XC Festival in Monmouth, Ore., in 18:50.

GRETA DUBOIS, HUDSON’S BAY GIRLS SOCCER: Dubois had three unassisted goals in a 4-0 win over Benson.

SILAS GRIFFITH, RIDGEFIELD BOYS CROSS COUNTRY: Griffith won the Ash Creek XC Festival in Monmouth, Ore., in 15:47.

ZOE MCBRIDE, PRAIRIE VOLLEYBALL: McBride had 21 kills, 11 digs and two aces in a 3-1 win over Skyview.

SPENCER TIBBITS, FORT VANCOUVER BOYS GOLF: Tibbits shot two rounds of 1-under-par for the Trappers.
