Local SWAT officers arrested three people on suspicion of drug and weapons crimes after a high-risk traffic stop Thursday, according to the Vancouver Police Department.

Detectives from the department’s Safe Streets Task Force and Neighborhood Response Teams brought in the area SWAT team to help apprehend a suspect that officers thought may have been armed.

SWAT officers made the stop near Northeast 112th Avenue and Mill Plain Boulevard. Along with arresting three people, officers recovered two firearms and a “large amount of Ecstasy,” the department said.

Stephanie Linke, 35, and Lucas Reed, 36, of Vancouver were both arrested on suspicion of unlawfully possessing a firearm and possessing heroin. Linke’s city of residence was not available.

Charles Smith, 20, of Battle Ground was arrested on suspicion of unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver.

The police said an investigation is ongoing.
