Weather Eye: Enjoy weekend’s summer-like weather, harvest moon next week

Late Wednesday afternoon skies cleared enough to allow the temperature to bounce above the 70-degree mark finally, after two cloudy drippy days. After some morning clouds we should see skies clear today and temperatures inch up.

Friday will be the best day weather wise this week and we may get into the low 80s when those easterly winds kick in. Saturday looks nice and Sunday not bad. We took the rain out of the picture except maybe just to our north but really, nothing to fret about.

Looking to next week it appears we rebound back in to the 80 or better category and some summer-like weather. I don’t think we get any really hot weather from now on.

Are you aware that our average mean temperature for the first seven days of the month is running seven degrees below normal? The average mean temperature is only 60 degrees. We are doing okay on the rainfall, a little above average, but that will surely go in the minus category soon.

Our average high is 78-79 degrees this week, which we should achieve the next couple of days. Meanwhile the landscape has the look and feel of autumn. Each passing day we cherish the hazy sunshine that shines down upon us. The rainy season usually kicks off later in October so plenty of time to get in some outdoor time and complete projects.

The full harvest moon arrives next week on the 16th. The harvest moon is the full moon closest to the September equinox. I suspect it may be a clear and calm evening as darkness falls, perfect for an outing or date night.
