Detectives with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office were investigating after a passerby reported finding a dead body in a wooded area in Hazel Dell around 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

The sheriff’s office said the body, described as an adult’s, was found northeast of Northeast 78th Street and Northeast 13th Avenue.

No obvious cause of death was apparent, and the body was turned over to the Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office. More identifying information was not yet available, the sheriff’s office said.

The area where the body was found is known to be frequented by transient campers, the sheriff’s office said.
