Mt. Vista — Janeen Brooks earned a Volunteer Service Award through her employer, Wells Fargo, which will donate $1,000 to the American Cancer Society. Brooks started volunteering with the society about five years ago, and manages the accounting for the society’s Relay For Life. Award winners are nominated by their colleagues and selected from a pool of about 600 people based on their dedication to the nonprofit group, how much time they volunteer, the effectiveness of their work and the value of their work to their community. Wells Fargo’s Volunteer Service Award program started 38 years ago and gives grants to nonprofits on behalf of Wells Fargo employees to recognize the contributions they make to local organizations and schools. Janeen is a mediation specialist for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage.
