Three honored for 50 years of work with university women

Hudson’s Bay — Kay McMurry, Klaras Ihnken and Beverly Doty were honored at a party for their 50 years of service with the American Association of University Women, where they have worked for the betterment of women and girls in Clark County. McMurray, who earned degrees from Western Washington University and University of Portland, was a co-founder of the AAUW Hudson’s Bay Branch and worked as a teacher and media specialist in Vancouver Public Schools. Ihnken has degrees from Harvard University and University of Portland and was the assistant principal at Prairie High School when it first opened. She was also a founder of the Hudson’s Bay chapter of AAUW and served as the Washington state president for the national organization. Doty earned a degree from the University of Colorado and spent time teaching grade school on Army bases around the country and in Taiwan and Peru.
