La Center — After riding in a float this summer in the Portland Rose Festival Starlight Parade, the Miss La Center Court was asked back to Portland to volunteer during the 25th annual Festa Italiana. The court — queen Hallie Nelson, Mia Crocker, Emmyleigh Storm, Grace Nolan and Dayna Hines — did some grape stomping and spent time in the “soldi” booth, where they sold tokens to the public to use for buying food and beverages. Festa Italiana ran Aug. 25-27 at Pioneer Courthouse Square and celebrated Italian-American culture.
