POW/MIA observance to be held on Sept. 17

The Community Military Appreciation Committee is inviting the community to a National POW/MIA Recognition Day Observance on Sept. 17 at the Armed Forces Reserve Center, 15005 N.E. 65th St.

The program begins at 11 a.m. at the Reserve Center, near Fourth Plain Boulevard and Ward Road in Orchards. There also will be a 9:45 a.m. reception.

The event will honor and remember those who were prisoners of war and those who are missing in action, and their families.

The Community Military Appreciation Committee is a civic nonprofit organization that plans and holds community events and recognizes and supports military families.
