Save the Date: Frights, fun at Halloween events today through Monday

This is your last weekend to check out the four frights that wait at the Clark County Scare Grounds, 17402 N.E. Delfel Road, Ridgefield. Will you test your might at the “Return to the Asylum,” brave the “Night Terrors,” make it through “The Lost Colony” or explore the unknown in “Area 51”? The Midway will also feature the Scream Parlor photo booth, Last Ride coffin ride, vendors, face painting and more. The haunted houses are open 7 to 11 tonight, 7 to 10 p.m. Sunday and Monday. Admission is $20 to $22, $15 to $18 for ages 10 and younger, with parking included. Ridgefield Art Association’s Halloween Hall will feature a creative bit of Halloween fun for the whole family, with games, hay maze, music, concessions and more from 6 to 10 tonight at Abrams Park, 445 Abrams Park Road, Ridgefield. The Branch Christian Church hosts Family Harvest Party open to all in the community for some costume-themed fun, with inflatable games, candy, carnival activities, photo booths, popcorn and other treats. Get a preview of all 50 artists participating in this year’s Clark County Open Studios Tour at the preview and reception event from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Esher Short Building, 610 Esther St., Vancouver. This artists’ reception will feature artwork by each of the 50 artists, along with a chance to pick up printed tour guides to better plan your route for the tour, which takes place Nov. 12 and Nov. 13 at artists’ studios across Clark County. http://ccopenstudios.org

Clark College hosts the annual community celebration Educating the Seventh Generation with an evening of music, dance and tradition. The event runs 5 to 10 p.m. Friday, starting with an Opening Prayer and presentation by the Native American Culture Club, in solidarity with the Standing Rock Sioux. It will be followed by performance by the Kaleinani o Ke Kukui dance troupe, a welcome address and more. Bandleader David Watson and the Bebop n Beyond ensemble will perform the music of “The Birthing of the Cool,” written by Gerry Mulligan, Miles Davis and Gil Evans. Race to Remember will host a Veterans Day Race that will lead off the annual Lough Legacy Veterans Day Parade at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site, 1001 E. Fifth St., Vancouver.
