Police seek tips in shooting incident

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office is trying to find whoever was inside the car that a Vancouver man allegedly shot at as it passed by his home in Orchards last week.

Deputies responded the morning of Oct. 18 for a report of gunfire in the 7300 block of Northeast 159th Avenue. A caller said he saw a neighbor shooting at a blue sedan driving by the neighbor’s house.

The apparent shooter hopped in his car and gave chase, then was detained and arrested on suspicion of reckless endangerment and unlawful discharge of a firearm on Fourth Plain Boulevard, according to the sheriff’s office.

No injuries were reported, and no one from the targeted vehicle, a blue sedan, ever reported what happened.

The sheriff’s office said detectives want to speak with the occupants of that car.

It’s likely that the sedan’s passenger side was damaged in the incident, and it may have a shot-out window or bullet holes in a side pane, the sheriff’s office said.

The sheriff’s office asked anyone with information on the incident to contact Detective Chris Nicholls at 360-397-2192 or chris.nicholls@clark.wa.gov; or Deputy Robin Yakhour at 360 397-6008, ext. 5451, or robin.yakhour@clark.wa.gov.

Tipsters may remain anonymous.
