The Clark College women’s volleyball team continued on its roll with a second win in as many days.
The Penguins defeated Southwestern Oregon on Saturday 3-0 (25-12, 25-22, 25-11) to improve to 8-1 in the NWAC South region.
On Friday, the Penguins beat Umpqua 3-1 (17-25, 25-21, 25-15, 25-23).
Clark, 23-8 overall, was led on Saturday by Livia Strandberg’s 14 kills. Courtney Misner had 10 digs, Gauleighyan Eastman had 21 assists, and Allyson Crisp had seven blocks.
Against Umpqua, Strandberg had 11 kills, Misner 29 digs, and Olivia Jacoschenk had 19 assists.
Clark next hosts Lane at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday and then travels to Linn-Benton on Friday.
MEN’S SOCCER — Clark lost 1-0 at Portland on Saturday on a own goal in the 70th minute.
Clark (8-4-1 South, 8-7-2 overall) has clinched a playoff berth with two matches remaining.
The Penguins are next at Southwestern Oregon on Wednesday.
WOMEN’S SOCCER — Clark (11-0-0 South, 14-2-0) won 4-0 at Clackamas on Friday.
Molly Joyce scored three goals, giving her 25 on the season, and Ellie Quercia had two assists. Sarah Kaufman made two saves for her sixth shutout of the season.
Clark concludes its regular season at Lane next Saturday. The postseason begins Nov. 5.
CROSS COUNTRY — Clark had the weekend off in preparation of the Southern Region Championships at Clackamas on Saturday.
