3A GSHL football: Kelso 30, Evergreen 12

Max McDaniel rushed for 180 yards and three touchdowns as Kelso strengthened its playoff position with a win over the visiting Plainsmen.

Kelso will secure the No. 2 berth to the Week 10 playoffs with a win over Hudson’s Bay next week.

McDaniel had two touchdown runs in the first quarter as Kelso built a 16-0 lead.

Antoine Archer had a 15-yard touchdown pass from Payton Monda, and Dustin Nettles had a 40-yard TD reception in the third quarter as the Plainsmen closed to within 23-12.

But McDaniel added a 32-yard TD run in the fourth quarter to seal the win.
