Two Vancouver banks reported robberies by female suspects, bringing the total number of bank robberies this week in Vancouver to three.
Shortly before 11 a.m. Friday, a woman entered then robbed the Umpqua Bank at 11515 S.E. Mill Plain Blvd.
Vancouver police spokeswoman Kim Kapp said no weapon was displayed during the robbery.
She left on foot, then was seen getting into a lighter colored, older sedan with heavy front-end damage, Kapp said. The suspect was not located.
Six hours later, shortly after 5 p.m., officers responded to another bank robbery, this time at a US Bank branch at 8700 E. Mill Plain Blvd.
According to emergency radio traffic monitored at The Columbian, a woman entered the bank, presented a note demanding money, then left.
Police tracked her to a location in the 6000 block of Southeast Riverside Drive not long after.
Officers in the area found a pickup and stopped it, according to radio traffic, taking two people into custody.
Officers surrounded a nearby home on Riverside Drive Friday evening, as well.
It was not clear Friday evening whether the same woman robbed both banks.
On Monday, a man robbed another Umpqua Bank, in Hazel Dell.
The suspect in that robbery also was not located.
