Vancouver – The first Hispanic Heritage Month Breakfast celebrating local Hispanic culture will be held Friday morning at the Clark County Skills Center. The Southwest Washington League of United Latin American Citizens, or LULAC, and the Clark County Latino Youth Conference are hosting the breakfast from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at 12200 N.E. 28th St.

Hispanic Heritage Month is observed annually from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15.

The breakfast’s keynote speaker is Katherine Rodela, an assistant professor in educational leadership at Washington State University and the faculty adviser for the Vancouver campus’s collegiate LULAC group.

Tickets are $35 per person and can be purchased online at www.eventbrite.com by searching for “2015 SW Washington Hispanic Heritage Month Breakfast.” Proceeds go toward scholarships for local students.
