Officers blocked traffic on Southeast Mill Plain Boulevard Thursday evening while detaining four subjects connected to an armed bank robbery in Oregon.
According to emergency radio traffic monitored at The Columbian, officers had held, at gunpoint, a group of people suspected in an armed robbery near Northeast 107th Avenue and Mill Plain shortly after 5 p.m.
Vancouver police Sgt. Mike Chylack said law enforcement officers working with a federal fugitive task force and Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office were watching a nearby home in connection to a bank robbery investigation in Oregon.
Chylack said the details he had were limited, since it’s an another agency’s investigation. Vancouver officers helped cut off a vehicle on Mill Plain as it drove away from the home, he said, then helped block traffic.
Officers had four detained by around 5:30 p.m., and had the suspects vehicle towed. Chylack said the commotion cleared from Mill Plain shortly before 6:30 p.m.
