There’s a no-fly zone over Eastern Oregon. John and Jorden Payne are helping enforce it.

The brothers from Camas are both defensive backs on the Eastern Oregon football team. Saturday, they played a role in a 39-29 win over Southern Oregon, known for its high-octane passing attack.

John Payne, a redshirt senior, had two interceptions. Both came in the second half as the Mountaineers made a 29-14 halftime lead stand up.

His first interception came midway through the third quarter after Southern Oregon had driven near midfield.

His second came with 6:52 remaining after Southern Oregon had driven 47 yards inside Eastern Oregon’s 25.
