Five people were injured Saturday in a three-car crash on state Highway 500 in Vancouver, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The crash occurred at 12:53 p.m. when a 2016 Dodge Challenger southbound on Northeast Stapleton Road passed through a red light and into the intersection with state Highway 500, striking a 2006 Saturn Vue that was traveling east on the highway, a WSP bulletin said.

Debris from the crash struck a 2007 Ford Volt bus van that was northbound on Stapleton Road south of state Highway 500.

The driver of the Dodge, Marlon X. Chacon, 23, of Vancouver was transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center. He was treated and released.

The driver of the Saturn, Florence Magathan Bumagat, 36, of Vancouver was also transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center. Details about her condition were not available Saturday evening

Three passengers in Magathan Bumagat’s vehicle, Vincente M. Bumagat, 67, of Vancouver, Bob J. Magthan, 53, of Vancouver and a 3-year-old boy, were treated at the scene for their injuries, the WSP reported.

The driver of the Ford, Damon E. Willingham, 43, of Vancouver, was not injured.

The crash totaled both the Dodge and Saturn, according to the WSP.

The WSP said Chacon would be charged with reckless driving in connection with the case.
