The North County Community Food Bank’s annual fall fundraiser, taking place next weekend, includes a murder mystery game. Guests are asked to dress in 1920s, “Great Gatsby”-style clothing to go along with the game planned by the Murder Mystery Company of Portland.

The event, called Scare Away Hunger, begins 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at the Battle Ground Community Center, 912 E. Main St. Tickets are $85 per person or $600 for a table of eight. Contact the food bank at 360-687-5007 to register.

Scare Away Hunger is the food bank’s major fundraiser. The food bank purchases between 5,000 and 8,000 pounds of food each week to serve local residents in need. More than 63 percent of clients are children and senior citizens.

Auction items and sponsorships are still being accepted.
