VANCOUVER – Fort Vancouver National Historic Site has made it to the final four of a competition celebrating Archeology Month, and is vying today for a berth in the title round.

Fort Vancouver is matched against Tuzigoot National Monument, in Arizona’s Verde Valley between Phoenix and Flagstaff. The site that earns more votes in on-line balloting today reaches Friday’s championship round against Hopewell Culture National Historical Park in central Ohio.

Fans can vote at https://www.archaeological.org/archaeologyday/archaeomadness.

The “Archaeomadness” contest is sponsored by the Archaeological Institute of America as a way to motivate the public to get out and explore parks and public lands.
