Hazel Dell — About 20 students from Kristen Myklebust’s Food and Your Health class at Clark College visited the Hazel Dell School and Community Garden, where they helped with pruning, transplanting, weeding, harvesting and general fall garden maintenance. They had some assistance from Conner Weller, whose Boy Scout Eagle project will be rebuilding 15 raised garden beds, and from Washington State University master gardeners Bobbi Bellomy, Kathryn Boden, Barbara Nordstrom and Amanda Slyman. The master gardeners are about to launch a Garden Discovery program for Hazel Dell Elementary School students, where parents and community volunteers will present prepared activities to individual classrooms. A session for those interested will be held in the school garden greenhouse on from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. All are welcome.
