Camas – Final paving will take place starting today on the roundabout at Northwest Sixth Avenue in Camas and is expected to last through Friday, weather permitting.

City officials are warning the public that traffic will be slow, and anyone heading in that direction should give themselves additional time, or avoid the area entirely.

Today, a crew is expected to pave Sixth Avenue between Northwest Norwood and Logan streets, which could add 10 to 15 minutes onto trips through the area, according to the city.

On Thursday, final paving will take place on the southern portion of the project, and the final asphalt layer will be added on the north half of the project on Friday. On both days, eastbound traffic approaching Camas from Vancouver will be directed through the Sixth Avenue construction, and westbound traffic heading toward Vancouver will be detoured through the Forest Home neighborhood.
