Two teens accused of spray-painting graffiti on the personal property of 19 residents in Camas’ Prune Hill neighborhood, as well as on a stop sign, are facing felony malicious mischief allegations.

Takoda M. Fitzgerald, 18, of Camas and a 15-year-old Vancouver boy are accused of tagging 18 vehicles, a residence, a wooden fence, a stop sign and a mailbox with black and white spray paint. One vehicle had its interior painted, and some of the vehicles had paint covering nearly every body panel, windows and lights. Many will require new paint jobs, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Fitzgerald appeared Monday in Clark County Superior Court on suspicion of first-degree malicious mischief. He has since posted bail, which was set at $20,000. The 15-year-old is facing the same allegation in juvenile court and was released to his family, according to court records.

The teens vandalized the property in the early morning hours Saturday, and much of the graffiti contained profanity and obscene images, the affidavit states.

One resident whose house and garage doors were vandalized captured the teens’ tagging of his property on security cameras, according to court documents.

When police contacted the pair, they both confessed to being behind the graffiti and said they didn’t have a reason for the vandalism, court records said.

Police have spoken with an auto dealer about the cost of repainting the tagged cars, the affidavit states, which will range from $2,000 to $4,000 per vehicle.

Fitzgerald and the 15-year-old will be arraigned Oct. 14 and Oct. 17, respectively.
