Marcos Martinez ran one yard for his second rushing score of the match with 49 seconds left, lifting Washougal to a 2A Greater St. Helens League win.
The drive was kept alive with the help of the Ridgefield defense that committed two costly penalties.
While each touchdown for Washougal came on the ground, the Ridgefield defense was able to keep the Panther offense in check allowing just 9 total rushing yards in the game. Quarterback Ryan Stevens was the difference-maker, as he found seven different receivers for 222 yards.
The Washougal defense intercepted four passes from Dawson Lieurance who, by all accounts, played better than the numbers show. He had several passes dropped and was constantly under duress by the Panther defensive line.
