Vancouver police are investigating after a body washed ashore in the Columbia River early Wednesday morning.
A National Parks Service employee discovered the body about 9:10 a.m. near the Waterfront Renaissance Trail about 200 yards upstream from the Interstate 5 Bridge, according to Vancouver police and dispatch logs.
Vancouver police Sgt. Tim Martin said detectives from the departments major crimes unit have been called in to investigate. The area has been cordoned off from the public.
