The weather so far the past several days has played along with the forecast and it appears things will fall in place this week as planned. The first in a series of wet storms will arrive during the day today. Initially, the snow level may be just above the mountain passes but that will change quickly.
By Wednesday morning, colder air will be pouring in aloft and snow showers will be present Wednesday. Another more potent storm will arrive on Thanksgiving for moderate to heavy rain and blustery conditions west of the mountains and heavy snow over the passes. Still yet another stronger weather system will strike on Black Friday. We will call it Wet Friday.
So I guess this week will be quite unsettled no matter where you go in the great Northwest. Prepare for winter driving conditions both going and coming back over the Cascades. The snow will be measured there in feet rather inches this week. We are expecting three to five feet falling between now and Sunday night. Ski season will be well underway.
Now if you are heading to the coast for the holidays, expect excellent storm watching as south winds will be strong along with high ocean waves. Rain will be heavy at times. Boy, sure sounds like inside will be the place to be enjoying the warm holiday atmosphere.
