Clark County – Clark County residents might get calls from Bill Schonely, the Portland Trailblazers announcer for nearly 28 years. OK, it’s a prerecorded call, but his voice will be asking everyone to donate food to the annual Walk & Knock Food Drive. On Dec. 3, volunteers will pick up food donations from people’s doorsteps.

Besides Schonely, Chuck’s Produce and McDonald’s are promoting the drive. Reminder postcards are going to Camas residents as an experiment to see if they improve donations.

People can also donate online at www.walkandknock.org or donate or drop off nonperishable food at donation barrels around the county; locations also can be found on the Walk & Knock website.

Walk & Knock is the nation’s largest one-day food drive, always held on the first Saturday of December. Donations collected in Clark County go to the Clark County Food Bank, where the food will be distributed to pantries that serve people in need.
