Vancouver police are investigating after a Bagley Downs convenience store was robbed Thursday night.

A man entered the convenience store at the Chevron, 4100 E. Fourth Plain Blvd., at about 11:45 p.m., produced a handgun and demanded money from the cash register, Vancouver Police Department Spokeswoman Kim Kapp said.

The suspect took the cash and fled the building, heading north and out of sight, Kapp said.

Police responded and searched the area with a police dog, but did not locate the man.

Kapp said the suspect is described as a dark-skinned man about 5 feet 10 inches tall with a thin build.

He was last seen wearing a black down parka, dark pants with blue underwear sticking out over the waist and dark shoes.
