Fishing report 11/17

Four lakes in Southwest Washington again will be stocked with large rainbow trout to offer a special angling opportunity on Nov. 25, otherwise known as Black Friday.

In Clark County, Klineline Pond and Battle Ground Lake each will get 2,000 trout averaging 1.25 pounds. Kress Lake in Cowlitz County and Rowland Lake in Klickitat County also each will get 2,000 of the big trout.

Swift Reservoir remains open through the end of the month. The reservoir is 21 feet below full pool. Swift Forest Camp ramp is usable down to 25 feet below full.

Walleye fishing at the upper end of The Dalles pool has been excellent.

Angler checks and related information from the Washington (WDFW) and Oregon (ODFW) departments of Fish and Wildlife:

Cowlitz — Sixteen boaters with seven adult coho kept and two adult chinook released; 202 bank rods with 44 adult coho and two jack coho kept plus 13 adult coho, four jack coho and two adult chinook released. (WDFW)

Coweeman — Five bank rods with three wild coho released. (WDFW)

Kalama — Thirteen boaters with two wild coho and one wild steelhead released; 59 bank rods with two coho and one steelhead kept plus one steelhead and two coho released. (WDFW)

Lewis — Six bank rods with no salmon or steelhead. (WDFW)

North Fork Lewis — Six boaters with three adult chinook and one adult coho kept plus one adult chinook and two adult coho released; eight bank rods with one adult coho released. (WDFW)

East Fork Lewis — Seven bank rods with one wild steelhead released. (WDFW)

Klickitat — Three bank rods with no catch. (WDFW)

Mid-Columbia — Bonneville pool, three boaters with one adult coho kept. (WDFW) Forty-six boaters with seven adult coho and one jack coho kept plus one steelhead released; two bank rods with five legal, seven sublegal and one oversize sturgeon released; one boater with no walleye. (ODFW)

 The Dalles pool, two boaters with two steelhead kept; two bank rods with no catch; two bank rods with 20 sublegal sturgeon released; 29 boaters with 248 walleye kept and 31 released. (ODFW)

• John Day pool, 13 bank rods with three steelhead kept and one released; 35 boaters with two steelhead kept and nine steelhead released; 37 boaters with 20 legal, 60 sublegal and six oversize sturgeon released; 72 boaters with 101 walleye kept and 13 released. (ODFW)

• John Day River arm, 78 boaters with two steelhead kept and seven released. (ODFW)
