Walnut Grove — Furry Friends’ eighth annual dinner and auction fundraiser brought in $32,500 for the nonprofit cat shelter. The funds from the My Fair Kitty event, held Sept. 17 at the Firstenburg Community Center, will be split, with $10,650 going to upgrades at the newly purchased cat shelter and $21,850 going to the general fund for taking care of the cats. Throughout the night, guests could have their photos taken and bid of auction items. Tess Ewart and her cat, Griff, won the costume contest.
