New locations taking unused, leftover paint

Vancouver – Community residents with unusable paint can recycle it at Miller Paint and Parkrose Hardware stores in Clark County.

Miller Paint, 111 N.E. 164th Ave., and Parkrose Hardware, 8000 E. Mill Plain Blvd., joined the county’s Paint Take-Back program. They now accept latex and oil-based paint to be disposed of at no cost.

Now nine Clark County stores accept leftover paints during business hours:

• Habitat for Humanity ReStore, 10811 S.E. Mill Plain Blvd.

• Miller Paint, 14300 N.E. 20th Ave.

• Miller Paint, 9609 N.E. 117th Ave.

• Miller Paint, 2607 N.E. Andresen Road.

• Miller Paint, 111 N.E. 164th Ave.

• North County Hardware, 40600 N.E. 221st Ave., Amboy.

• Parkrose Hardware, 16509 S.E. First St.

• Parkrose Hardware, 8000 E. Mill Plain Blvd.

• Rodda Paint & Decor, 7723 N.E. Fourth Plain Blvd.

On most weekends the following transfer stations will take unused leftover paint at no charge:

• Central Transfer and Recycling Center, 11034 N.E. 117th Ave.

8 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

• West Van Materials Recovery Center, 6601 N.W. Old Lower River Road, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

• Washougal Transfer Station, 4020 S. Grant St., 8 a.m.-4 p.m. third Saturday of the month.

Latex paints will be recycled into new paints. Oil-based ones become fuel.
